Le Dispensaire de la Garde de La Corne

819 799-2181

Designated a national historic site

Nurse Gertrude Duchemin moved to La Corne in 1936, where she provided first-line health care and education for over 40 years. Upon her death, she bequeathed her personal collection to present an exhibition of great authenticity to the public, and provide an insight into the work of colony nurses.

Designated a national historic site in 2004, the building has not undergone any significant changes and offers a tour in stages. A visit to the Nursing Station is a gift from our past.
