Le Dispensaire de la Garde de La Corne

819 799-2181

Designated a national historic site

The dispensary is a historic heritage site relating to local history. It tells the story of more than 250 women, nurses by profession, who sacrificed their own wellbeing for ours. It’s the story of super heroines who conquered Abitibi-Témiscamingue in order to deploy their knowledge and empathy towards settler families. It’s the GREATEST of small museums.

Designated a national historic site in 2004, the building has not undergone any significant changes and offers a tour in stages. A visit to the Nursing Station is a gift from our past.
